Biocomputing Laboratory (BCL)

Biocomputing Laboratory

The Biocomputing Laboratory (BCL) was established in 2019 to accommodate studies under the DOST-PCHRD funded project titled: “Hepato-renal Conditions of Wistar Rats under Prolonged Chronic-Binge Ethanol Feeding: Prediction using Multi-layer Perception Neural Network.”

Blood sera analysis using Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) and histopathological assessment of mice/rat organ tissues serve as basis for coming up with a prediction model. This includes neural networks and other practical applications. BCL covers the development of diagnostic tool and aims to screen and detect early diseases or risk factors caused by prolonged chronic-binge alcohol drinking with prediction on severity index of injury using Multilayer Perceptron Neural Network.
