Brief Description | Proponents:
This research project is contextualized on the issues and concerns on the health and health-related conditions of the marginzalized population. Results to be generated herein are expected to bear significance on the ultimate decrease in the incidence of illnesses among 4Ps beneficiaries. In line with knowledge and research, this research project hopes to establish innovative ways and/or validate established methods of doing the investigation with the end of adding new dimension of viewing the accumulating knowledge on the focues of the inquiry. The Philippine health statistics on morbidity are not exclusive for poor families particularly the 4Ps beneficiaries. The identified factors contributing to disease incidence among poor families worldwide include contaminated water supply, inadequate sanitation, poor nutrition, improper health care, health disparities, and poverty. Similar factors are true in the Philippines but there is a limited literature describing the factors affecting the incidence of diseases among poor families in the country. This study then will provide data on the causes of morbidity among the 4Ps beneficiaries in the province of Ilocos Norte including the factors attributed to the incidence of diseases afflicting them. Ultimately, it can yield a collaborative model to improve preventive health services for 4Ps beneficiaries. The research project will be conducted to cover the whole province of Ilocos Norte which is composed of two cities namely Laoag and Batac and 21 municipalities. The first two studies under phase 1 which are focused on the determination of the incidence of the common illnesses afflicting the 4Ps beneficiaries are non-experimental quantitative descriptive surveys. In phase 2, the two research studies which involve the determination of the factors affecting the incidence of common illnesses afflicting the 4Ps beneficiaries are non-experimental quantitative descriptive-correlational. |
Expected Output | The research project intends to generate knowledge on the common illnesses afflicting the 4Ps beneficiaries and the factors affecting the incidence of common illnesses afflicting the 4Ps beneficiaries and a collaborative model to improve preventive health services for 4Ps beneficiaries. This research project is contextualized on the issues and concerns on the health and health-related conditions of the marginalized population. Results to be generated herein are expected to bear significance on the ultimate decrease in the incidence of illnesses among 4Ps beneficiaries. In line with knowledge and research, this research project hopes to establish innovative ways and/or validate established methods of doing the investigation with the end of adding new dimension of viewing the accumulating knowledge on the focus of the inquiry. |
