Biography

Dr. Doreen D. Domingo is a full-fledged professor at the College of Arts and Sciences, MMSU. She finished her PhD in Biology (Magnacumlaude) in 2014 at Saint Louis University, Baguio City. She was a Visiting Research Scholar at the Indiana University of Pennsylvania, PA, USA, where she worked on a research focused on Molecular Characterization  of dsRNA of Select Rhizoctonia solani  Isolates and Modeling of Target Proteins to Human Pathogenic Fungi sponsored by Military of Defense, USA. She serves as the Chair of the Department of Biological Sciences and Program Chair of the MS in Biology Program of the Graduate School. She was a recipient of the PRAISE Outstanding Teacher Award in 2016 and MMSU Distinguished Alumna Award in 2018. Through a DOST-PCHRD Funded research, she was able to establish the Biocomputing Laboratory, a laboratory that focuses on blood sera analysis, and histopathological assessment of organ tissues of mice and rats that serve as image data sets for the development of prediction model using neural networks and other computational methods and applications. Her current research interests include histopathological assessment, enzyme marker and protein analysis of selected organs in mice/rats under chronic-binge alcohol feeding.
