Biography
RYAN DEAN T. SUCGANG is a faculty member of Mariano Marcos State University since 2000. He is presently the OIC-Dean of the College of Health Sciences and a consultant of the University Research Ethics Review Board.
Also, he is the current Regional Director of the Sports Science and Physical Educators of the Philippines, Inc. from 2014 to present. Incidentally, he is the co-proponent for the establishment of the Center for Human Movement Studies (CHuMS) and is the Strength and Conditioning Coach of the MMSU Varsity Team.
He completed his Master of Science in Human Movement Science-Major in Exercise Science at the University of the Philippines-College of Human Kinetics in Diliman, QC in 2008. During his graduation, he received the prestigious GAWAD KINETIKA FOR OUTSTANDING GRADUATE RESEARCH. He obtained his Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy at the Mariano Marcos State University in 1999. He is a lifetime member of the Philippine Physical Therapy Association, the only accredited professional organization for physical therapists by the Professional Regulation Commission.
He has conducted funded research projects on healthy lifestyle constructs of HEI educators by the Commission on Higher Education under the Grants-In-Aid program (CHED-GIA) and is currently investigating the potential of bamboo orthopedic devices by the MMSU under the Project SARUKOD endeavor. He is also involved in the research on indigenous knowledge management in Ilokano traditional health systems under the CHED Magic 7 consortium with the University of Sascatchewan in Canada. He also is a member of the study group for health concerns of tobacco farmers in the Ilocos region funded by PCHRD and the research team on mental health of University students and employees under the GAA fund.
He is the chair of the writing team that is currently preparing the Code of Research Ethics for University Researchers.
