Biography

Dr. Ronald Candy S. Lasaten is a Professor III of the Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU). He is currently the Director for Curriculum Development and Innovative Learning. 

Dr. Lasaten obtained his master’s degree, Master of Arts in Education major in Language and Literature, and doctorate degree, Doctor of Philosophy major in Linguistics at the MMSU Graduate School. Recently, he received his diploma in Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice (PGCAP), which he obtained from the University of Liverpool (UoL), United Kingdom.

His attendance to various conferences held in the country and abroad has made him expert in language and literature teaching, assessment, ICT integration, and instructional materials development. With his expertise in instruction, he has served as lecturer and resource speaker in various seminars and trainings funded by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), Philippine Normal University (PNU), Department of Education (DepEd), and Department of Science and Technology (DOST). Further, he has served as textbook and learning resource material evaluator of DepEd National. In 2014, MMSU recognized him as the Outstanding Teacher in the University during its PRAISE Award.

Interestingly, Dr. Lasaten has served as research adviser and panel member to graduate theses and dissertations. His research expertise has given him the opportunity to present papers in national and international conferences. Moreover, he has served as one of the external reviewers of the research journal published by DepEd Region 1. His research publications to peer-reviewed and refereed international journals have made his profile in Google Scholar reach more than 100 citations.

At present, Dr. Lasaten is implementing a study funded under the General Appropriations Act of MMSU and is currently working on niche projects for the College of Teacher Education and the Graduate School.
