Ms. Marylis A. Nalundasan is a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Agriculture and a Masteral Degree in Agriculture (1992).
She is presently employed at the Mariano Marcos State University as an Education Program Specialist II. For thirty one years, she has been actively involved in conducting researches as project leader under the Vegetable Commodity particularly on the Development of off-season vegetables which is one of the priorities as per need of farmers in the Northern part of the country. Among the significant accomplishments in the said project include the development of three off-season tomato hybrids along with the component production technology and the seed production technology of these hybrids. These outputs have been presented in various scientific fora and widely disseminated through print and broadcast media, thus, stakeholders all over the country are equally benefited. She has authored and published a paper entitled, “Evaluation of MMSU Fresh Market Tomato Hybrids for Off-Season Production” in S & T Journal of the Mariano Marcos State University, Vol. 1, No.1, 2007. She also authored and published the following papers in Agriculture in the Ilocos of the Ilocos Agriculture and Resources Research and Development Consortium (ILARRDEC): 1. Commercial Seed Production of Off-Season MMSU Tomato Hybrids, Vol. 4, 2009; 2. Performance of MMSU Off-Season Tomato Hybrids Under Ilocos Norte Condition, Vol. 2, 2000; and Planting Guide for Off-Season Tomato Production, Vol. 1, 1999. Her extensive and dedicated commitment in technology promotion, utilization and commercialization of the off-season tomato production technology paved the way in the increased number of adoptors and ultimately the income of tomato farmers. As a result, these outputs have gained awards and recognitions not only in the local but also in the national scene.
