Brief Description
Weaving is one of the oldest industries in the province of Ilocos Norte. Gender division of labor necessitated by the agricultural society, thus issues have gendered dimensions that must be unpacked.  Generally, the study examined the situation of the Ilokano abel weavers through the lens of gender and development.  It looked the relationship between men and women who are involved in the pre-production, production, and post-production activities of abel weaving.  By looking at the different processes involved in the production of abel, the conditions and issues faced by the weavers came to light.
