Biography

Ms. Alecsis G. Villarin is equipped with fundamentals, principles and skills in teaching and research. While performing her job as a Science Research Assistant (SRA) at the Research Directorate of Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU), she was tapped as affiliate faculty in the College of Agriculture, Food and Sustainable Development (CAFSD). She is also assigned as one of the technology licensing officer of the University Innovation and Technology Support Office (UITSO). And a member of the Garlic Research Center. She finished BS in Agriculture major in Horticulture and MS in Crop Science in 2013 and 2018, respectively in MMSU. Likewise, she also acquired a 2 – Year Certificate in Agricultural Technology, a Ladderized curriculum in MMSU. She is currently pursuing her PhD in Plant Pathology at the University of the Philippines, Los Baños.

Her career started in the year 2013 and involved with several research projects on crop protection management research in different vegetables (garlic, pepper, eggplant, tomato etc.) in both Grants-In-Aid and GAA funded project. Through these researches, they were able to receive awards in different local and national scientific conferences. The experiences she acquired both from the academe and research contributed much in her professional development, especially in the field of agriculture. As a staff of UITSO, in order for her to be equipped with intellectual property (IP) management, she attended various trainings about IP protection, management, and commercialization. At present, she is actively engaged in the commercialization of the university research-based technologies
