Dr. Jahnese D. Asuncion is an Associate Professor IV at the Mariano Marcos State University, College of Teacher Education, Laoag City. She has been serving the University since 2003. Aside from teaching English courses in the said College, she also serves as the Student Affairs Coordinator and Adviser of the official student publication, The CTE Bulletin. She obtained her Bachelor of Secondary in Education degree, major in English and minor in Social Studies from MMSU College of Education as magna cum laude in 2001. She graduated Master of Arts in Education (English) in 2007 and Doctor of Philosophy in Linguistics in 2015, both from MMSU Graduate School, Laoag City. Dr. Asuncion had served as lecturer, resource speaker, trainer and research presenter in various seminars, trainings and workshops. She was able to publish a study in the International Journal of Languages, Literature and Linguistics. She completed a study funded by the General Appropriations Act of MMSU, which explored the paraphrasing skills of college freshman students and its implications to language teaching and learning
