Biography

Julius Incillo Jimenez is a faculty-researcher of Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU) located at the City of Batac (2906), Ilocos Norte, Philippines. Engr. Jimenez holds MS degree in Engineering Major in Soil and Water Resources Engineering (MSE-SWRE). His on-going and perspective researches involve the use of Geographic Information System to water resources management and to any other related field of science (social sciences, environmental science). When he was a first year graduate school student, he worked on the extent and depth of floodwater at urban area of Paoay, Ilocos Norte during the peak rainfall, considering the Comprehensive Land Use Plan of localities and different land use demands. The study uses different GIS-related software (e.g. ArcSWAT, CLUMondo) that simulate flood mapping using Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis-Analytic Hierarchy Process (MCA-AHP). The research work was recognized in national and international level.  The paper won as the first place during the PSABE Annual Convention on April 21-27, 2019 and was presented in Shizuoka University, Japan upon the invitation of the sponsoring university. During his second year, he passed a research paper entitled, Quantifying the Impact of Land Use Change as Affected by Groundwater Hydrology Using SWAT-MODFLOW Modeling, that characterized the groundwater of the watershed. The paper also bagged second place during the PSABE Annual Convention on April 21-27, 2019. His MS thesis works was titled Quantifying Impacts of Climate and Land Use Change on Groundwater Hydrology and Sustainability of the Quiaoit River Watershed, that aimed to introduce theoretical model and scientific foundation for policy intervention that can conserve groundwater hydrology for water resource sustainability.

At present, he is working as college instructor at the College of Agriculture, Food, and Sustainable Development (CAFSD) in MMSU. Apart from being a teacher, he is also committed to do researches in the university. His role to researches in the University includes Geospatial Analysist, Smart Farming Consultant, Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Change Consultant and Statistician for various graduate and undergraduate theses. His personal research includes global economy and the new global finance that brought by blockchain technology. Modern investment, such as Decentralized Finance (DeFi) and new Digital Economy Framework such as cryptocurrency are among his personal research.
