Biography
Romelyn T. Lagura is the Graduate School's Associate Professor and Chief of the Center for Teaching Excellence (CTEx). Her teaching career started in 2008 as a grade school teacher. She taught for 13 years at the elementary level and teaches Science Education and Professional Education subjects at undergraduate and graduate levels. She holds a Bachelor in Elementary Education with Science as a concentration from MMSU-CTE, a Master of Arts in Education major in Science Education degree from MMSU-GS, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Science Education degree from PNU-Manila. She has been a winning coach in various local, regional, and national science competitions. She is also an active extensionist and a researcher in science education, as she has written and published research papers. She is also a trainer of the DOST-SEI Project STAR which trains Math and Science teachers in the region. She is also an active Associate Member of the National Research Council of the Philippines.
