Biography
Ms. Ma. Joy Theresa T. Agcaoili is a graduate of B.S. in Biology and currently pursuing her degree in Master of Science in Biology in the university. She is one of the full-time researchers in the Research Directorate working primarily in the field of molecular based assays under the newly established Center for Cellular and Molecular Medical Research (CMED).
Current research works include: (1) Amplification of 16S rRNA for sequencing and isolate identification of probiotics from IFPs; (2) Enhancing stability of IFP crude extracts in topical dosage forms; and (3) Garlic Virus incidence of tissue-cultured bulblets and bulbils.
She previously worked as a Science Research Assistant under the DA - BPI funded Project, "Multiplication of Garlic Clean Planting Materials through Tissue-culture and Bulbil Production Approaches" where she focuses on the molecular virus indexing from regular bulbs to the different generations of tissue-cultured bulblets and garlic bulbils.
Ms. Agcaoili started as a Science Aide under the DOST-PCAARRD funded program, "Sustainable Production, Marketing and Utilization of True-to-Type Bolinao Native Chicken". Under Project 1, "Genetic Improvement Program for Bolinao Chicken through Conventional and Molecular Breeding Approaches", she worked on the phenotypic and molecular characterization of different local genetic groups in the country.
