Brief Description
The available ewes in the project will be divided into two groups since there are only two initial rams available for breeding. One group will be mated to St. Croix Ram # SX 02 while the other group will be mated to St. Croix Ram # SX 04. Flock mating system will be pacticed. All the animals will be fed by combine grazing and cut and carry system of feeding. The two groups will be housed in different breeding pen and after breeding they will be maintained in different rearing pen until they gave birth to ensure that the offspring produced will not be mixed with the other group.

The first generation offspring will be observed in terms of birth weight, monthly weight until eight months, sex ratio, twinning percentage, mortality rate, total number of lambs produced and other reproductive characteristics of female F1 and development of the testicles in male. They will be further characterized in terms of color and presence of horn. The selected F1 females will be mated with the other ram to avoid in breeding. The same breeding scheme will be done in the succeeding generations. The selected F1 male will be lend to the identified cooperators for further progeny testing under farmer's practice of raising sheep.

Expected Output
Pool of good quality breeding stock for sale and ram loan to farmer raisers.
