Biography

Mr. Don Carlo R. Batara is a Science Research Assistant of the Mariano Marcos State University, City of Batac, Ilocos Norte. He obtained the degree Bachelor of Science in Biology at the College of Arts and Sciences, Mariano Marcos State University in 2008 and finished 36 units of Professional Education at the College of Teacher Education, of the same university in 2009.

He worked as Secondary School Teacher at Saviour’s Christian Academy, Laoag City from 2009-2011 and Local School Board Teacher at Florentino Camaquin Integrated School, Vintar, Ilocos Norte from 2012-2014.

At present, he is part of the research team of the Research Directorate. He is stationed at the Tissue Culture and Molecular Genetics Laboratory and conducts researches anchored to molecular studies particularly on genetic structure of garlic population in the Ilocos, molecular virus indexing in banana, and SNP and association analysis of economically important traits in Batanes and Ilocos cattle population.
