Mr. Jayson F. Cariaga is a graduate of BS Biology program of the Mariano Marcos State University- College of Arts and Sciences in 2014. He started his career in 2016, after his civic volunteer at Every Nation Campus for 2 years. He started as Science Research Assistant under a GIA-funded (USAID STRIDE) project titled: Pilot Deployment and R&D of a Multi-Feedstock Village-Scale Modularized Kits for Bioethanol Phase-II Establishment of S&T-based Sustainable Village-Scale Bioethanol Industry. In the following year, he was involved as one of the research assistant under the DOE funded project titled; the Establishment of Community-based Industry and Continuous R&D on the Feasibility of Hydrous Bioethanol as Biofuel Blend.
In 2018, he was promoted as Science Research Specialist-I Supervising the establishment of 3 model nipa farms for the development and sustainability of bioethanol feedstock project under the National Bioenergy Research and Innovation Center (NBERIC). He worked with NBERIC until he received his tenure last March 2019 as Science Research Assistant-I at the Research Directorate.
At present he is currently stationed at the NBERIC as a study leader and a full-time laboratory head for Biomass Characterization Lab and Technodemo Laboratory. His involvement with NBERIC opened him many research opportunities to be part of many externally funded project such as the Production of Ethyl alcohol (70%) using MMSU’s proprietary fermentation and Distillation Protocol under CHED which aims to produce ethyl alcohol for frontline offices and government owned hospitals in Ilocos Norte during the nationwide - enhanced community quarantine, and an involvement to improve country-side sustainable development through a USAID-WARP Project titled; Technology Franchising of Village-Scale Nipahol Technology (VSNPT) for Community Empowerment during Pandemic.
