Community-based renewable energy systems profiles. 2013. ISBN 978-971-790-094-0 by Carmelo J. Esteban, Irma P. Acebedo and Jhemalyn S. Reparejo

This book presents a comprehensive profile of some of the Micro-Hydroelectric Systems (MHS) in the landlocked province of Abra, one of the provinces comprising the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) in northern Philippines. This is one of the three service-area provinces of the Affiliated Renewable Energy Center (AREC) based at the Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU) in Batac City, Ilocos Norte. There are now some relatively new MHS in the area along with the first MHS established in the 1990s. The "best practices" in the development of new MHS and the improvement of existing units will hopefully help policymakers or project leaders in developing and up-grading MHS systems that are more gender-sensitive.
