Brief Description
This research study focuses on the discovery of terrestrial plants endemic to Ilocos Norte with immunomodulatory roles. It aims to gather data on basic information of natural drug source of plant origin as new leads for development of potent and safe immunosuppressant and immunostimulant agents primarily for advancement to formulation and manufacturing of new natural products with therapeutic applications. Througn in-vitro/MTT assays, this research study will provide baseline data on the immunomodulatory roles and cytotoxic activities of the unexplored endemic plants.

Expected Output
This research study intends to produce the following outputs:

  1. Documented endemic plants in Ilocos Norte with potential medicinal use
  2. Identified extracts with immunomodulatory role
  3. Presented one paper in a scientific conference
  4. Published one paper in a national/international refereed journal.
