Brief Description
This is the Study 4 of the project "Development and Assessment of Organic Production Management Technologies for Rice-based and Upland Agroecosystem".
The organic (liquid and solid) fertilizer production strategies to be used are: (1) Compost tea production using the brewer (substrates will be vermicompost and compost); (2) Liquid OF using different materials (different legumes with less economic value); (3) Vermicomposting using different substrates or supplemental substrates as topical application.
Organic fertilizer is one of the major needs/inputs in organic farming. Hence, organic fertilizer production must be a part of the organic farming system. This activity will be conducted to generate technology in order to increase efficiency in the production of organic fertilizer. For this purpose, the application of EM, CFA, and ratio of the different substrates will be evaluated. The basis of evaluation will be the following:
- nutrient analysis (N, P, K and OM content)
- processing time
- percent recovery
- feasibility
- others
Expected Output
Determined the organic (solid and liquid) fertilizer production strategies
