Brief Description | Competency based education offers the promise of reducing the gap between education and employment concerns in Higher Education. Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) pursues the assessment and certification of the competencies of the middle-level skilled workers through Philippine TVET Competency Assessment and Certification System (PTCACS). Awareness on the impact assessment on learning requires raising evaluation as a shared process regardless of the assessment modality used in any educational situations. The poor skill demonstration of the graduates of K-12 is a summative result of many factors in the educational system of the Philippines. Thus, regulating this through proper assessment and evaluation tool can be a great help to cope with the industry requirements and standards. This study aimed to develop and validate assessment packages for competency evaluation of incoming first year students of Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU-CIT) based on the results of the survey on the assessment tools utilized by MMSU-CIT in evaluating incoming first year students in terms of knowledge, skills, and attitude. |
