RD reviews colleges' and research centers’ R&D agenda and roadmaps

To set the direction of future research and development (R&D) activities, the Mariano Marcos State University - Research Directorate (MMSU-RD) conducted a strategic activity to review the colleges’ and research centers' R&D agenda and roadmaps for 2024-2028 last November 16 at the Crops Research Laboratory.
Led by the RD director, Dr. Dionisio S. Bucao, the event was participated by other key personalities of the university's research community, which included the college research coordinators (CRC) and research center chiefs. The research coordinators present were Dr. Richard Agbayani of the Graduate School (GS), Dr. Phoebe Agcaoili- College of Medicine, Dr. Dinah Marie Dayag - College of Agriculture, Food and Sustainable Development (CAFSD), Dr. Karina L. Damo - College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), Prof. Rommel Pascua -College of Aquatic Sciences and Applied Technology (CASAT), Prof. Mediah Perle Layaoen - College of Business, Economics, and Accountancy (CBEA), Prof. Michael Burac -College of Computing and Information Sciences (CCIS), Dr. Sabina Pariñas- College of Health Sciences (CHS), Ms. Christine Bañez-College of Industrial Technology (CIT), Prof. John Paul Vallente – College of Teacher Education (CTE) and Dr. Roco Gearheart represented the College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM).
Likewise, the following chiefs of the various research centers also actively participated: Ms. Noralyn Legaspi – Garlic Research Center (GRC), Dr. Mae Anne Batuyong – Natural Resources Conservation and Management Center (NRCMC), Dr. Cristina Valentin - Regional Research and Training Center for Climate Change Studies (RRTCCCS), Engr. Arlene Mia Ruguian- Center for Innovative Materials in Emerging Applications (CIMEA), Ms. Maria Cristina Pammit - Social Development Research Center (SDRC), Dr. Joselito l. Rosario- Bamboo Research Center, and Ms. Maingelline Vivit, the Tuklas Lunas Development Center (TLDC) officer-in-charge.
During the activity, the CRCs presented their respective college R&D agenda while the center chiefs discussed their center’s R&D agenda and strategic roadmaps.
According to Dr. Bucao, the presented drafts will undergo a comprehensive review, considering the valuable suggestions and comments provided during the meeting. Additionally, a stakeholders' forum will be organized to gather external input, ensuring that the final agendas align with the university's overarching goals and meet the needs of the wider community. The outputs of the said activities will be the basis for updating the University Research for Development Agenda.
