Status: Completed

Duration: December 1, 2011 - December 31, 2015

Brief Description

Locale of the Study. The field trial will be conducted during wet season (WS) at the experimental farm of the Mariano Marcos State University. Different rates of inorganic fertilizer will be evaluated using the propagated vine cuttings as planting material.

Experimental Design. Propagated vine cutting of M. cochinchinensis (sugod-sugod) will be used as source of planting materials in the study and will be laid out in a Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with three replications.

Fertilizer Application. Complete fertilizer will be applied basally. Side dress Urea 1 month after transplanting and at 1 month interval thereafter up to flowering stage. Side dress muriate of potash before the flowering stage.

Water and Weeding Management. Watering the plants will be done after fertilizer application and at bi-weekly interval thereafter or as needed. Weeding will be done as the need arises.

Data Gathering. Data to be taken will be on vine length at different observation period, number of branches, days to 50% flowering, days to first harbest and last harvest and yield and yield components.

Expected Output

Best rate of inorganic fertilizer for Momordica cochinchinensis (sugod-sugod) production
