Brief Description
Coastal environments are vital ecosystems that offer a wide range of benefits, such as storm protection, marine life habitat, and recreational activities. But as a result of rising sea levels, more frequent and powerful storms, and coastal erosion, these areas are coming under more and more threat from climate change. To support decision-making and reduce hazards, effective coastal management requires timely and reliable data on wave and tide dynamics.
Expected Output
The ability to gather high-resolution data over long time periods is made possible by these developments, and this is crucial for determining how climate change is affecting coastal ecosystems and developing solutions for adaptive management. An important way to enhance the capacity to anticipate and address coastal hazards is by incorporating observation buoys into coastal management procedures. These buoys help to build early warning systems that can improve community resilience to extreme weather disasters by giving real-time data on wave heights and tide changes.
