Biography
Mr. Dan Jerome L. Malapira is an Instructor I at the Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU)–College of Industrial Technology in Laoag City, Ilocos Norte. He previously served as a secondary school teacher for both Junior and Senior High School. At MMSU, he is involved in institutional accreditation, faculty-related initiatives, university admission testing, and student organization advising.
He is currently pursuing his Doctor of Philosophy in Education, major in Social Studies Education, at the University of the Philippines – Diliman. He earned his Master of Arts in Education, major in Social Studies, in 2023 and his Bachelor of Secondary Education, major in Social Studies, in 2018 from MMSU. He is also a licensed professional teacher.
His research interests include the Social Sciences and Humanities, phenomenology, education, curriculum studies, instructional material development, Social Studies Education, and artificial intelligence in education, with particular interest in lived experiences, historical and social phenomena, and context-responsive educational resources. He has also served as a writer of instructional Module in Art Appreciation.
