Brief Description
Studies on the local suitability of induced spawning of the organism shall be undertaken for seedstock production. Induced spawning studies shall compare the use of potassium chloride and the use of environmental manipulation on seedstock production. Hatchery-based sea urchins shall be used for selective breeding studies and feeding studies in the hatchery. Grow-out culture studies of hatchery-bred urchins shall be undertaken on land-based and on-site conditions. Stock enhancement/recruitment studies shall be done on-site in several coastal areas of Ilocos Norte.
Study Leader - Pilar Carolyn C. Pascual
Expected Output
Information on the hatchery/seedstock production and stock enhancement of the sea urchin, T. gratilla.
