Brief Description
The study seeks to answer the following questions.
1) What is the teachers’ level of competence along the standards of assessment?
1) What is the teachers’ level of competence along the standards of assessment?
2) What assessment methods are commonly used by teachers in teaching Social Studies
3) What are the assessment problems encountered by the teachers?
4) What are the training needs of teachers in designing assessment tools and utilizing assessment strategies?
5) What training program could be designed based on the gathered data?
Expected Output
This study aims to produce the following information that could be disseminated or presented in research fora or conferences and can be utilized as baseline data in crafting a framework in designing assessment tools and utilizing assessment strategies:
1. Level of teachers’ competencies (knowledge and skills) in designing assessment tools and utilizing assessment strategies.
2. List of commonly used assessment methods by teachers.
3. Assessment practices, concerns and challenges of the teachers.
4. Training needs of teachers in designing assessment tools and utilizing assessment strategies.
