Brief Description
With the aim of exploring the experiences of the nursing learners in simulation and actual clinical area, in-depth information will be gathered to inform the researchers on the design of an enhanced simulation modalities. After URERB approval and consent secured, this phenomenological study will be conducted among the randomly selected Level II, III, and IV students to explore their simulation experiences on medication administration as well their clinical area experiences. Focus group discussion (FGD) method and semi-structured questionnaires will be used. At each year level (II, III, and IV), FGD of at least 6-12 members will be convened for two sessions to last for two hours maximum until data saturation is reached. The researchers will serve as moderators of the FGD sessions. Researchers will use pseudonyms or codes, ensuring that participants personal information and responses are kept with anonymity and confidentiality.  During the FGD sessions, the interview will be recorded using a camcorder. Notes taking will also be done by the researchers for observations. Then data will be transcribed and analyzed.

Data Analysis will be framed from the six steps of phenomenological data analysis by Cresswell, 2014. All throughout the data analysis, researchers will maintain an open reflective attitude, allowing the data to guide the analysis and interpretations. Thematic analysis will be employed to uncover meaningful patterns and themes within the study. The researchers will start with open coding by labeling specific phrases in the data to organize the codes into potential categories, and finally into themes.
Expected Output
PUBLICATION- Findings will be submitted for publication to Nursing Journals (eg. Journal of Nursing Education, International Journal of Nursing Studies, Journal of Clinical Nursing, etc)

PLACE AND PARTNERSHIP- memorandum of agreement will be forged between MMSU and the 2 (two) universities with well-established simulation centers namely: a) Our Lady of Fatima University in Valenzuela City, and b) Princess Nourah University in Saudi Arabia
