Category: Project
Status: Completed
Duration:
January 1, 2012 -
December 31, 2015
Brief Description
This project involves two studies namely:
- Documentation of Phenology of Plants as Indicator of Climate Change Effects
- Documentation on the Phenology and Pest Incidence of Dry Season Crops as Affected by Weather Conditions in Ilocos Norte
It focuses on the analysis of the phenophases of plants as affected by weather changes. Such study leads to the identification of phenophases that is most critical to climate change, and occurrence of relative abundance of pests. The information that will be derived is useful in determining the appropriate time of applying pest management strategies based on weather conditions and phenological events of the plants. Likewise, by noting relevant dates of the occurrence of the different developmental stages of plants, this may help whether changes are a result of climate change.
