Brief Description

This study will benefit the following stakeholders:
  • MMSU-CTE BEED Students. Uncovering problems in lesson planning will lead students to find remedies to such problems. Also, they will be able to realize the importance of lesson planning in the instructional process and this motivates them to design well their lesson plans, thus, making them more confident to enter the teaching field.
  • MMSU-CTE Faculty. Information on the students’ problems in lesson planning will guide teachers in planning effective strategies and designing learning activities that would surely equip students with knowledge and skills necessary for them to master the art of lesson planning.
  • Administrators/ Curriculum Planners. Results of this study can be used as basis for designing a curriculum which is very responsive to students’ concerns on lesson planning considering that lesson planning is the hallmark of effective teaching. Likewise, the findings will serve as basis for developing a lesson planning tool kit.

Expected Output

 This study will provide important information on the problems of students in lesson
planning, thus, helping them to overcome and to remedy these problems. The expected deliverable is a product which is a matrix of students’ lesson planning problems in the identified areas of designing lesson plans.
Based on the matrix, a lesson plan handbook for students will be developed in
Component Study 5.

Other expected deliverables are publication in journals and paper presentation in
national and international conferences.
